The Turtle Terminator Wraps Up Exterior Shoots in Troon and Glasgow

It has begun! Upcoming Random Clock short film The Turtle Terminator has shot all its exterior scenes, in one day.

Relying on an eight-strong crew, the production completed two scenes with leading actress Aisling Hunter. The shoot ran smoothly on account of consistent sunny weather throughout Saturday, but also because of extensive preparations in pre-production.

"Shooting sunny scenes in Scotland requires backup," says producer John Perivolaris. "We had not only a heavy duty C-stand and weather-proof gear, but also an alternate script and storyboard, with some scenes adapted for rainy conditions. I alway say, have a military approach to the Scottish weather when planning your shoot; hope for the best, plan for the worse!"

Filming took place at the beach in Troon, Scotland, as well as the Glasgow Botanical Gardens. For the second location, producer Ryan Pasi (of Glasgow Film Crew) conducted a behind-the-scenes live stream via Facebook, complete with interviews in between shots.

"These shots are the most complex in The Turtle Terminator," says director C.J. Lazaretti. "And yet, shooting them was an exhilarating experience. Kudos are due to both our producers, as well as our assistant director Hans Lucas, who managed the set with great confidence and skill."

The Turtle Terminator is scheduled to complete principal photography by mid-October. Stay tuned for more updates and photos.
